The book Footnote 14: Angel of History is both an integral part of and a complement to the exhibition of the same name at Casa São Roque. The space’s second publication, dedicated to reflecting on the life and work of Walter Benjamin, brings together essays that “shed light on Benjamin’s poetic and dialectical methods”, according to Artistic Director Barbara Piwowarska. She is joined in the book by specialists in the German essayist, philosopher and sociologist Susana Camanho, João Barrento and Maria Filomena Molder. There is also an interview with Walter Benjamin’s granddaughter, Chantal Benjamin.

For those interested and curious about Benjaminian thought, this is a plural and unique work, just like the legacy of the man who inspired it.
